2023 HG Summer Bop & BBQ

We are delighted to announce the return of Hampden Gurney's much loved Summer Bop! Read on to find out more about improvements from last year, activities and pricing...

First things first, you'll be happy to hear there will be a few changes from last year in order to:

• Minimise queuing (!)
• Provide children with more activities
• Make it more affordable.

We are inviting Tarka to put on some really fun obstacle courses, competitions and classic fun fair games, and have had lots of other great suggestions for stalls and activities.

We'll use be using tokens again (1 token = £2.50) and will only be taking card and cash payments to buy additional tokens and raffle tickets. 

• Children's entrance tickets will include one Tarka session plus 2x tokens to cover their food.
• Adults can purchase a wristband for an open bar.

Tickets and tokens for school staff and families on free school meals will be covered by the PTA via the school office.

Indicative prices:

• Burgers and vegan burgers                                    2 tokens each
• Hotdog, chips, large pizza slice, desert             1 token each
• Wine, beer, prosecco                                                 2 tokens each
• Cocktails                                                                         3 tokens each
• Coke, lemonade, etc                                                   1 token each
• Squash                                                                             free
• Extra Tarka sessions (if available)    2 tokens
• Stalls and games, e.g.:                                               1 token each
• Face painting
• Hair braiding
• Nail and tattoo bar
• Competitions
• Treasure map game for Portman Sq key
• Craft table                                                                       free

As you can see, there will be lots of opportunities for parents and kids to help out, so please keep an eye out for sign up sheets.

Please remember that children need to be collected from school as usual prior to the Bop. They must be accompanied by an adult who will remain responsible for them throughout the evening.
